This is 3 years in the making, and it is a HUGE improvement to the ergonomics of implementing finicky, stateful objects in Python. They take up less code, do less namespace pollution, require fewer weird special cases to support things like serialization, put the code closer to its behavior, and most of all, are *exhaustively* type-checked in such a way that about 80% of the mistakes you can make with the library will be immediately caught before you even run the code.
