When it comes to lower level stuff like specialized (CLI) tools and composable modules I totally agree and try to apply this philosophy to my coding too.
But for apps (the end product of composing modules) my preference is to think in categories like:
- Nostr for communication (Posts, Direct Messages, Channels, Streams, etc.) ➡ Amethyst
- Bitcoin for money (Lightning, On-Chain, Cashu) ➡ ZEUS (once watch-only wallet works properly I can ditch BlueWallet and ZEUS will be the only app needed for everything regarding Bitcoin)
- Outdoor stuff (instead of installing separate apps for pedometer, astronomy info, compass, etc.) ➡ Trail Sense
The good thing is that we have the freedom of choice no matter what preference (multiple apps vs. few superapps)
