There are several variants depending on the island/district but in general there's a fish god Ku-ula-kai who blesses a worshipper Ku'ula with abundant fish provided the god is offered a fish from every catch (this is the simplest version).
There are legends of magic bountiful fish hooks across Pacifica as well.
