Certainly 30 years ago, running colleges had a reasonable argument to be made for it. But at this point in the evolution of technology I'm not even sure that running large Universities **at all** is a good idea. I think med-schools are a bit special, but as actual educational mission maybe vastly expanding the number of "city colleges" and allowing people to use their buildings and things for independent seminars etc would be better. Lectures on Peertube...
