I know that it's the most obvious suggestion but that is a perfect use case for putting an ftp/sftp server on the troonix soystem and an ftp/sftp client on the windows soystem. Also remember that when you don't know where to put something you can just dump it into /tmp and forget about it once you're done using it.
The troonix soystem is your steamlet‐like handheld, right? I use the sftp server on the steamlet to load game roms on it all the time and it's very /comfy/. I suppose that it's not quite as convenient as it appearing like a mounted drive but you can find ftp/sftp clients with an UI similar to windows explorer.
