someone misgendered me on a text chat. No big deal. They didn't know.
Someone I know corrected them which is great.
Their correction got me thinking though. They responded "Rose's pronouns are she/her". I wonder if I was a cis woman or they didn't know I was trans they would have responded with "Rose is a woman", or just "it's 'she' actually."
I wonder if the way we discuss and emphasize pronouns over identity has created a linguistic paradigm where the possession of pronouns are used in a way to say "actually they are trans". 🤔
