Yes the point of ecash is to use it as you would for lightning.
There is a NIP, NIP-61, that want to use ecash to zap nostr events for example.
You can easily attach ecash to any Nostr address as well.
The point of ecash is to be held and send across Nostr without redeeming it for a while
