Gift cards aren't an issue. Money transfers to random people and their bank accounts are. You don't know who that person is. They could be a licensed money handler, a cartel member or a pedophile. You simply don't know and you don't know if their accounts are flagged or if they will get audited. Your transaction automatically associates you with that person. With countries eager to massively reduce transaction reporting limits (some countries have lowered those already) it's only a matter of time till your own account gets flagged and that's not even necessarily for purchasing Bitcoin. You could get accused of being part of a child porn ring if you engage with the wrong person.
