This is offensive, and diminishes the true horror of ACTUAL slavery. Human beings were bought and sold like animals. Their owners could mutilate and kill them, the way humans can have pets put down. It was all legal. This is not a good comparison, in any way, for "individuals being bound to sell their labour". It is shameful to make that comparison.
