I wrote this a little over two years ago. The only way I can stay sane is to behave as if everyone else in the art world is wrong 😂

“This is what art patronage means to me: holding talented artists accountable to the highest possible standards. It is worse than doing nothing to support the arts if one is incapable or uninterested in attempting to distinguish greatness from mediocrity - if the goal is to make significant new contributions to culture. To create a masterpiece is an unbelievable achievement, the journey is a long and hard road. I see more opportunities than ever for greatness to be recognized and rewarded, but it would be insane to pretend that it isn't very, very, very rare. That is my current take on things, with a lifetime of research still to be done. It's an active investigation :)”
