I noticed people being misled by these two files that they see in GitHub releases (not their fault).

While they are listed beside the files provided by the developer and titled "Source code", they are not put there by the dev and they may not contain source code.

Each release is anchored to a git tag. These entries are added automatically by GH and they only contain a zip of the repo at that tag.

Crucially: if the repo contains no source code, then these files contain no source code either!
