If we think about how much Aristotle understood and that he put that on print before Jesus.

I think it is safe to say that people have understood how to exploit human nature, the will to follow and such thousands of years ago.

And I don't think they all went about and wrote about it to educate the masses. I think they kept it to themselves and built a dynasty on it.

And some of those doctrines might still be in use.
