"Free Palestine", which is graffitied all over DC, has the expected sort of ambiguity that's covert to folks who aren't sensitive to it but a red flag if you think you might be a target of bigotry.
Does it refer to freeing the State of Palestine, that is, the Hamas regime in Gaza and the PA in the WB? (Somewhat concerning if you're concerned for Hamas's freedom.)
Or does it refer to the land of Palestine, that is, what we now call Israel? Does it mean the dismantling of Israel?
