I genuinely believe in what James Baldwin said, that if you can’t see another child as equally valuable to your own, you are already broken as a human being, you’re already a moral monster. Your own child is also victimized by this, because they now have moral monsters as parents who cannot, by definition, be full of love around their own children because they have decided to accept a world in which other children do not matter.
