Jeremy Hunt says (regarding Thames Water):
'What we’re never going to do for people who invest in the UK is say that the state is going to insure you against bad decisions made by management or shareholders. That’s what markets are about'!
However, anyone familiar with the state's implicit (and at times actual) willingness to bail out banks might think that this statement is a little less than accurate.
The state will 'insure' some investors, its just sectionally specific....
