It all started in Zaporozhian Sich. A Cossack got to Khortytsia and was immediately sent to study - to read and write, play musical instruments and dance.
Hopak is a kind of warm-up, during which the main combat elements were worked out - lightning speed, powerful blows of arms and legs, a steel stance and tactics.
Over time, hopak spread beyond Zaporozhian Sich.
