From Aegean Boat Report:
Illegal and brutal pushbacks by Greek authorities, supported by Frontex, funded by the European Commission, continuous unhindered and unchallenged in the Aegean Sea.
In the early hours of today, a boat carrying 64 people, amongst them over 30 children, was closing in on the northeastern coast of Rhodes.
The boat was stopped by a vessel from the Greek coast guard deep inside Greek territory waters.
According to the victims, masked men onboard the Greek coast guard vessel, used brutal force, beat several people, also women, with long sticks with hooks.
The masked men held them at gunpoint, ordering them to hand over their belongings, bags, money, and especially phones. A few onboard managed to hid their phones, these phones were later used to call for help.
The Greek coast guard towed a boat carrying 64 people, amongst them over 30 small children, back into Turkish waters and sat them adrift.
Turkish coast was informed, and later found 64 people, helplessly drifting 15 nautical miles south of Sarigerme, Muğla, Turkey.
From the pictures we received from the boat this morning, we have identified the vessel as a Lambro 57 coastal patrol vessel belonging to the Greek coast guard.
