In my area of the country, we have these homemade turtle crossing signs all over northeast CT and central MA. Ground zero is our town I recall talking to the town clerk about this a couple decades ago. She asked me, "do you know who did this?" I shrugged my shoulders. She proceeded, " they're not in trouble. We just want to know." Like I was part of this conspiracy. It is probably some hippy terrapin Deadhead from Uconn, but I really don't know. Anyway decades later these signs are still omnipresent.
