For awhile, I have been mentioning that there are very real risks to Russian oil exports becoming less profitable - or even routinely negative for them - due to shipping insurance.
Well, the recent Houthi attack on - ironically enough - Russian oil being transported past Yemen, plus increasingly routine Ukrainian attacks on Russian oil, gas, and shipping infrastructure has already created an environment where we might expect their insurance rates to rise substantially.
