I remember there was this segment on the radio about patent trolls, and they interviewed this company which was a notorious patent troll and they were talking about what a great and innovative company they were, and you know what they showed off?
A machine to kill mosquitos by burning them with a laser.
This was a company which patents things and sues people for making them - but NEVER makes them themselves.
In retrospect, what they were saying was : Here's something cool that you will never get to have.
