For the record, the #MariaDB database itself is governed by the MariaDB Foundation, not the company. The Foundation rejected the BUSL and the database has stayed under the GPL this whole time. The database and Foundation are doing very well, while the *company* by the same name that pulled the BUSL shenanigans is not.
