Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, President of the University of Sharjah, received a delegation of academics from the University of Liverpool, England, at his residence in the university city today, Thursday. The Ruler of Sharjah welcomed the visiting delegation, highlighting the wide cooperation between the Emirate of Sharjah and the University of Liverpool, which includes specialized universities and academies in various fields, as well as prestigious institutions of higher education around the world, including those in the United Kingdom. This cooperation contributes to the exchange of scientific experiences, the development of educational levels among teachers and students, and the achievement of the emirate's educational plans. The meeting also discussed the Ruler of Sharjah's vision for education, which is based on a well-planned and strategic approach that has provided an integrated educational environment in the emirate, covering all regions and cities, and has resulted in the establishment of institutions that offer the highest levels of specialized education at all university levels, making it a model and example of the quality of higher education and its management, utilization, and specialization. The meeting also emphasized the importance of benefiting from all scientific and academic experiences in the local environment, especially in applied university studies, such as agricultural, medical, and health sciences, and guiding students towards scientific research, in order to acquire the required expertise, and cooperating with all community components to ensure the success of all development projects, and graduating students with a rich educational experience that prepares them to enter the workforce and serve their communities. The meeting also reviewed the cooperation between the University of Sharjah and the University of Liverpool in the field of veterinary medicine, which is classified as one of the best programs in the United Kingdom based on the latest global rankings, and will be one of the programs offered by the University of Sharjah in its academic programs, with all the necessary facilities and surroundings. The University of Liverpool delegation, on the other hand, expressed its gratitude and appreciation to the Ruler of Sharjah for providing the opportunity and opening up areas of cooperation with the universities of Sharjah, which will yield mutual benefits in many academic fields. At the end of the meeting, the Ruler of Sharjah presented the University of Sharjah's shield to the delegation, and the University of Liverpool presented a commemorative gift to him. The meeting was attended by Engineer Ali bin Shahin Al Suwaidi, Director-General of the General Directorate of Public Works, Dr. Maha Al Hashemi, President of the Sharjah Private Education Council, Dr. Hamid Majoul Al Naemi, Director of the University of Sharjah, Dr. Aisha Bousseli, Director of the University of Sharjah, Professor Paul Lowen, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Liverpool, and several academic officials from the two universities.
