The window to destroy MAGA has closed, even if US democracy survives Trump and Republicans lose power, Trumpism will survive past Trump and be a defining feature of yankee politics for decades. If Trump had been defeated basically any time before his second term it's very possible, even likely, that the Republicans would have morphed into some other (terrible) thing and Trumpism would have slowly died over a couple of election cycles. That definitely won't happen now.
What we've seen is the birth and rise of the equivalent of the Nazi party, and I mean that in every sense. Trumpism will outlive Trump and there will be Trumpists in the US for probably a century or more if the US lasts that long. The particular conspiracies and grievances of Trumpism will get rehashed over and over and smuggled into new packaging, and if we are *very* fortunate and *very* strong in our collective action against Trumpism, you will see Qanon shit being repackaged in thirty and fifty years like the Protocols of the Elders of Zion are repackaged constantly today.
