Performance is probably hopeless if you don’t have some kind of underlying hardware direct remote memory access though? Maybe MPI shmem doesn’t have a software implementation?\n\nThis makes me feel like I’m in a time warp to 1997 though, when I did shmem libraries for SGI Origin and Cray T3E.",
