Great question, we give the user as many options as possible to reduce trust in us as much as possible.

a) It's open source and doesn't require sudo for the layer 2

b) Layer 2 can be run on top of Layer 1 from a different provider, so we can't see the real IP

c) Micro billing empowers you to separate different parts of your life into profiles, we don't know they are you. And it's offline until connecting with that profile

d) We currently allow Tor->socks5 proxies so then we see an exit node

e) We're in process of decentralizing the servers, so it would be anonymous without needing a "different provider". So just using the VPN you already have.. then you're hiding from both them and us. And we purposefully use different datacenters than the major VPNs such as Mullvad or IVPN, giving you diversity for this.

Recap:
-You pick between Wireguard or Tor->socks5
-No vendor lock-in, You can be anonymous with another provider systemwide
-No sudo required
-No connection between identities, in-app Monero/lightning billing
-No "mega-huge" international datacenter providers

Ultimately, you can't really trust anyone, so that's why services like our's try to minimize it as much as possible.
