The USD has only lasted as long as it has due to being the world reserve currency and lots of people around the globe holding it, rather than spending it. Of course, even the USD truly has defaulted because it used to be backed by silver. First they prevented the peons from redeeming in silver. Then they prevented nations from redeeming in silver. I wonder when the next default is coming.
