this is actually why I almost never talk about "statistics" between countries.

Other countries' methods of calculating anything around cycling often uses extremely poor methodology.

Even deaths are calculated differently.

If an old woman on a bike is hit by a car and breaks their hip, then three weeks later dies in hospital due to an infection in the broken hip, is that counted as a "cycling death"? Different counties have different answers to that.
