Final on Nostr: All donations are without influence or strings attached and anyone donating should ...
All donations are without influence or strings attached and anyone donating should expect they will not be given a privilege, the most they'll get is our thanks. We've refused and took matters public against orgs who've tried to do this. We've received far more from others.
These donations are from Proton fundraisers paid by users and the targets for the fundraisers are also chosen by users. This post is for the users. Proton gets thanks for setting up that fundraiser and matching theirs as it is common courtesy.
Unsure what you mean by compromised. Any time I heard something like this before it's because they previously had to do something compelled by the law of the country they're based in. It's obvious companies follow their local law because they have absolutely no choice in the matter. A conscious user should understand a company's obligations before choosing to tie themselves to an online service.
