The real thing I wish I saw people talking about regarding the TikTok ban was that the legislation that banned it was part of a "bundle" that included foreign aid. This practice of linking unrelated legislation to force a vote is a major problem in governance in the US, and everyone is too angry at the symptoms to talk about the cause. Until the bill was bundled to Ukraine aid, something the government actually cares enough to vote on, the TikTok think was a dead horse.
