The veterinary shortage / overbooking here is such that it rivals the difficulty in getting health care as a human.
So speak early if your critter has an issue! I've noticed that our vet practice is contorting themselves in various ways to provide care -- telephone consultations, drop offs and "let's see if we can fit you in" for acute issues, etc.
