if you want a fuck-around-and-find-out distro, I can suggest CRUX. You can swap out any part of the distro and it won't complain. Want to change the init system? Go ahead. Want to ditch the package manager? Go ahead. The package manager that comes OOTB is very bare bones so I would suggest to install prttools (IIRC).
