Second, yeah SVB maybe is not TBTF, it’s the FDIC that may need a bailout, and most of the industry seems relatively calm because they can already hear the machine going up to speed to go full brrrrr
The main issue they have to fight is time, if people start defaulting too much on mortgages because someone like Uber stops being able to pay, that will fuck up mortgage backed securities even worse and would have a systemic effect, so the FED probably wants to start helicoptering money ASAFP but despite being ultimately the sovereign on that shit, the whole legalistic bullcrap federal government is slowing the response down.
Muh separation of powers + pseudo-private bullshit down the money chain is bad for speedy decision making.
