It’s a new product built on top of a volatile asset. If I were running the company offering the service, I’d take the same approach. Someone without at least $100K in liquid assets likely wouldn’t be worth the risk, at least not initially. Over time, as the product matures and the mechanisms become more refined, the threshold could be lowered.
