Counter-terrorism police are investigating an incident in Leeds after a crowssbow and firearm where recovered and two women were seriously injured. West Yorkshire Police said they were called to Otley Road in Leeds at 2.47pm on Saturday afternoon to reports of an ongoing serious incident involving a man seen with weapons. Police found three people with non-life-threatening injuries, two of which were women and were taken to hospital.
A 38-year-old man was found with a self-inflicted injury. He was arrested and also taken to hospital. Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) North East said it took over the probe “due to the circumstances surrounding the incident”. Head of CTP North East Detective Chief Superintendent James Dunkerley said: “Although our enquiries are still at a very early stage, the circumstances surrounding this incident have resulted in Counter Terrorism Policing taking the lead for this investigation.
“From the enquiries undertaken so far, there is no evidence to suggest anyone else was involved in the attack, and, at this time, we are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident.” Images from the incident show weapons on the ground, including a crossbow and multiple guns.
