The landlord finally brings the interior to the 21st century, replaces the moldy windows, and they make it seem like they’re offering a palace that we need to pay for with gold and jewels.
My parents will never find rent as low as their current place in Ottawa but there’s no elevator to their 3rd floor apartment and they both have bad knees. I’ve expressed my concern about waiting too long to find a more accessible place but they are both stubborn and in denial.
Our basic needs should not be such a big source of stress.
I’m happy you feel some sense of relief given what you have to work with.
