anyway, speaking of upgrade plans, I finally got enough cash for a 2TB NVMe stick, which triggers sufficient hand-me-down upgrades that once I get another dirt-cheap Intel mini PC, the only thing I should need to get it going is some DDR4. I will have sufficient storage on hand to put together a third box.
the only wrinkle is that the Intel box might be limited to 2x16GB, which is too small for the Zen 3 machine the RAM will eventually end up in, so I'll have decisions to make as to what to do about that. I'm not sure which generation of Intel CPUs and resulting mini business PCs started supporting 64GB of memory.
