Reading the Wikipedia article of John Cage’s 4’33” has taught me that
-some musicologists consider the silent piece to be the birth of noise music
-it has precursors, such as Yves Klein's Monotone–Silence Symphony, “in which the second and fourth movements are bare twenty minutes of silence”
-there are several versions of the score - duration of the piece is set, but the duration of each movement might be determined by the performer
-there’s been a plagiarism incident
