Even the shitcoiners store a reference to an NFT in their blockchains. Why would ordinals save the whole jpeg in Bitcoin blockchain instead of its hash?
Also there is open timestamps that can be used for ownership.
Not disrespecting; do whatever you want as long as the current state of consensus allows you to do so.
But people will for sure judge your judgement to use blockchain space in such a wasteful way.
