"Artificial intelligence" is a nebulous term.
You seem to describe "generative AI", which just pieces together the works it was "trained" on.
I envision a new field emerging in which people use AI to deconstruct content that appears to have been generated, so that those who claim copyright to those works can collect damages.
(I have constructed systems that use artificial intelligence in non-generative ways, mostly to optimize industrial controls.)
