so i got this dinky phone for $147, thought it would help stress the perf of damus android but I’m still rendering 0.5ms per frame or roughly 2000fps (capped at 60 on the a14)
phones are too fast these days.
The best selling android phone in 2023 was the samsung galaxy a14, its only $147 on amazon right now, but many times you can get it even cheaper or even for free on many phone plans. This is incredible!
Going to optimize damus android for the cheapest phones and the lowest bandwidth conditions. We need to be optimizing for people with limited data plans. negentropy v1 is going to be vital for this, which is why I’m so excited for it. Many of these same optimizations will be in damus iOS and notedeck as well thanks to #nostrdb.
Billions of people have yet to be onboarded onto freedom tech. 2024 is going to be an exciting year for nostr: More clients, more use cases, more algorithms, more choice, more freedom. Lets get to work 🫡
