Looked more into this during my free period at school and this could have been so easily avoided. The plex exploit was known for years and patched out 75 versions ago. Keep your stuff updated especially if you self host.
If you are using last pass for a password manager I highly suggest you stop. They were hacked for the second time. Bitwarden is the password manager I use and would highly recommend it, if you're into self hosting you can get vaultwarden which is the same but with all the premium things like TOTP unlocked
