In April 2019 I purchased a Lenovo X1 Carbon ThinkPad for an experiment (https://jpmens.net/2019/04/06/challenge-accepted-openbsd-on-a-laptop/)
Very few weeks after that, I let the battery run empty and put it away & basically forgot about the device as I had no specific use for it.
Five years later I power on the device, and the battery is totally dead and will no longer charge. I've no idea whether that is normal.
Now using the thing plugged into mains until I get a replacement battery.
