Walking around Helsinki, you might notice some peculiar pitting on buildings and sculpture pedestals. Perhaps it's due to poor maintenance? Not quite. These are damages from the Soviet Russia bombing of Helsinki during WW2. They’ve been intentionally left in place as a reminder for future generations.
