
The Minister of Education, Camilo Santana, announced on Friday (9th) that the 2025 Enem exams will be held on two consecutive Sundays, November 9th and 16th. The registration period for the exam starts on May 26th and ends on June 6th. Candidates who attended the 3rd year of high school in public schools, participants in the Pé-de-Meia program, students who completed high school in the public network or as full scholarship students in private schools, and individuals registered in the CadÚnico with a family income of up to three minimum salaries or half a minimum salary per person are entitled to exemption from the Enem registration fee, which is R$ 85. Although approved for exemption, the candidate must still register for the Enem within the deadline, i.e., by June 6th. The Enem is the main gateway to higher education in Brazil, and the exam results can be used for the Sisu (Unified Selection System), Prouni (University for All) and Fies (Student Financing) programs. The exam scores are also accepted by some foreign universities. Camilo Santana also stated that the 2025 Enem edict will be published in the coming days. There are no planned changes to the exam this year, which will follow the same model as previous editions: four objective tests and a Portuguese language essay. The tests will evaluate the following areas of high school knowledge and curricular components: - Languages, codes, and their technologies, and essay - Portuguese language, literature, foreign language (English or Spanish), arts, physical education, and information and communication technologies - Humanities and their technologies - History, geography, philosophy, and sociology - Natural sciences and their technologies - Chemistry, physics, and biology - Mathematics and its technologies - Mathematics The first day (November 9th) will feature the essay test and 45 questions on languages, codes, and their technologies, as well as 45 questions on humanities and their technologies. In the essay, the candidate must write a dissertation-argumentative text of up to 30 lines on a social, scientific, cultural, or political theme. The second day (November 16th) will feature 45 questions on natural sciences and their technologies and 45 questions on mathematics and its technologies.
