I believe in Value for Value. Users of these apps need to understand this. While it is very kind to consider supporting them at the hosting level, their users enjoy many great features and options that differ between the apps.
Many models exist, and some have been successful in sustaining financially. My hope is that in the future v4v splits will become valuable enough.
