my brother has an ev and lives in the California Bay Area, where there are charging stations pretty frequently. His wife took his car on a road trip once and nothing bad happened, but she didn’t realize how much more anxiety she would have until she tried it. She wont take it ever again on a road trip.
You might find a charging station, but if there’s just one extra car already waiting, it goes from 25 minutes to over an hour and/or the search continues.
