Italy has it pretty tight in my opinion: we recognize your language, your culture and even grant you certain autonomy. However languages are still funny things. In the South, the Neapolitan and Sicilian dialects are still widely popular yet Neapolitan is not an officially recognized nor standardized language anywhere. Meanwhile Sardinia has autonomy, their language recognized and all that yet it's endangered; it's getting bastardized and younger folk aren't speaking it anymore. Meanwhile France does not recognize any other language but French. Did you know that Italy is the only country where Arpitan (spoken in France and a French language family) is recognized?
