I'm doing a small restoration project on a footstool that's been in my family for a few generations. It had so many nails from attempted repairs but also a lot from the top upholstery that I'm re-doing.

How terrible will it look if I tried to fill in all of these holes with something like Bondo or any kind of wood filler?

I don't want to paint it or stain it. I'm hoping to sand and re-finish (maybe Danish Oil).
