What's the point of having stronger characters if the protagonist always wins?
Invincible can't handle Annisa, or Conquest, or other pure Viltrumites.
Allen cannot just be a trump card of oh well now he's strong enough and the Viltrumites aren't really a threat anymore. It's no fun if the good guys always win and survive and magically always rise up to win.
