Controversial, but shouldn't be:
As social practices, #science & #religion are not mutually exclusive, just as it's not impossible to have one piece of society that feeds the poor and another piece that starves them.
As beliefs held by people, science & religion are also not mutually exclusive. People can believe all kinds of stuff.
But as bundles of claims about the world together with methods used to generate those claims, there is no reconciling science with religion.
